What's happening in Children's Ministry-July 2010
Summer Sunday school
Children ages four through rising sixth graders are invited to join us on July 18 at the 10:00 service for our summer Sunday school. We will have a wonderful worship with games and activities, especially designed to share God’s great love. One volunteer is still needed to help on Sunday morning.
SonHarvest Kids Discover Fruits of the Spirit
Over 70 children learned about God’s Fruits of the Spirit at our recent vacation Bible school. Our volunteers transformed the church into a down-home country farm as the excited group of children discovered God’s gifts of Love, Joy, Peace, Patience and Kindness. We are grateful for the hard work and time each of the volunteers dedicated to the program.
Throughout the week, the children collected food for the Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministry food pantry. Many of the children went door to door collecting food for the cause and purchased food with their allowance. At the end of the week, they had collected 2,727 items for donation. We are proud of their service to the community.
Choose to Serve
We will soon begin to seek teachers for our fall Children’s Ministry programs. There are openings at Friends of Faith on Wednesday evenings and 9:00 or 10:00 Sunday school. Please prayerfully consider if your gifts lead you to one of these positions. Training and excellent curriculum are provided. Teachers work in teams of two, three or four to facilitate an excellent learning environment for Christian education. If you are interested in joining the team, please contact Diane Thomas at church (770 963-4499 or dianethomas@christthelordlutheran.org.
Calling All Second Graders
The
congregation presented Bibles to all second grade students on Sunday, September
20. What a very special occasion it is when a child receives their first
Bible. The scripture will become a valuable gift for these children on their
journey of faith. If you have a second grade student, please contact the church
office, Diane Thomas, or sign up in the narthex. Bibles were presented at all four
services on September 20.

Kids Clothes Swap
Attention all families — CLEAN OUT THAT CLOSET! Mom’s that have come across gently used children’s items, (skates, clothes, shoes, etc.) that they can no longer bear to see their child wear, just one more time, and would like to sell them to other families at church — well here is your chance.
In the children’s education wing past the nursery is a bulletin board just for those items. Fill out an index card with your information and hang it on the board. Check weekly to see if you find anything you need! Remember if you would not buy it don’t try and sell it!
