Lenten Season Services

Ash Wednesday

Begin your journey of Lent with the disposition of ashes on Ash Wednesday, February 17. You are invited to start your journey at 7:30 p.m. This is a very stark service that is a clear reminder of who we are and from where we came from and where we will end. It erases away any notion that we will ever be good enough, yet offers that wonderful message of hope that only God can announce and give. Being stripped down to nothing, we discover the depths of God’s mercy. Come and discover from where our only hope comes with all its blessings.

Wednesday Evening Lenten Services

Every Wednesday at 7 p.m. during the season of Lent, we will get a glimpse into the life of Jesus through the creative setting of a courtroom trial. The congregation will be the jury. What were the reasons that the Jewish leaders brought Jesus before Pilate? How would someone like Pilate representing the Roman government treat Jesus? By understanding the thoughts and motivations about the key characters surrounding Jesus give us an everyday image of Jesus during his time. It also invites us to see the similarities of how we might view Jesus today. I hope you will join me on Wednesday evenings beginning with Ash Wednesday, February 17, and reflect upon how we could have been as guilty as the people bringing charges against Jesus in His time. We can also prepare ourselves for the Easter celebration by reflecting upon what we can do to join in the new life that Jesus has made available to us in his death and resurrection.

Thursday Noonday Lenten Services

Join Pastor Mitchell and Pastor Julie on Thursday’s at noon during Lent. We will explore how Lent leads to life as a compliment to the services held on Sunday morning during Lent. The services will be designed to give you some quiet time to reflect, especially if you are dropping in from work. If you would like, we could step out for a little lunch afterwards or just go back to what you were doing. Friends and neighbors are more than welcome.

Weekly Sunday Worship Services

All are welcome to worship with us.  We celebrate our faith in Jesus Christ through a variety of worship and music styles and traditions.  All services are presented in a casual and open style, and relate the lessons of the Bible to the concerns of our modern world.  Holy Communion, offered at alternating services, is open to all baptized Christians.

We have traditional Lutheran worship at 8:00 and 11:00, featuring organ-led hymns and following the liturgy found in the ELW worship book.  Communion is held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month.  We use both Setting I and II, make seasonal variations to the service, and enjoy the music of the Praise choir at the 11:00 service.

At 9:00 and 10:00, we enjoy a more contemporary service led by a live band and the Voices on the Wind choir.  Communion is celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.  The songs and liturgy come from the MorningStar book and feature inspirational songs from current artists and groups.

If you interested in an up-beat, creative, and Spirit-filled worship experience, check out our monthly youth worship services  check the bulletin or our youth ministry page for the schedule!  Youth comprise the band and choir, youth share their spiritual journey with others, and canned goods are brought to support various ministries. Everyone is welcome to join us!

In addition to these Sunday services, seasonal worship services are held during Advent and Lent.  Please check this page for additional details as the time draws near.

Children are always welcome in services and activity bags are available for those who are not yet able to sit still.  There are speakers in the Narthex or lobby so if you feel you must take your child outside the sanctuary, you can still hear the service.  We also have a professionally staffed nursery available during the 9, 10 & 11 o'clock services, for parents who wish to use it.

Jenny Lanning, our Director of New Member Ministry is always in the Narthex on Sunday mornings to greet, direct people and offer information on our congregation and activities.
