The "pastor's class is taking a break for the summer, while Pastor Julie teaches her special summer Sunday School for the youth.

“Funeral Planning 101.”

If you missed this class that was offered on February 28th, you can still complete the form to communicate your wishes. The form will be kept on file at the church office. Daily Discipleship

Our Daily Discipleship group is taking a break for the summer and will be back after labor day.

The ELCA lectionary Bible study leads to a lively discussion based on the weekly gospel lesson. Come join us as we apply the gospel lessons to our daily living.

Everyone is invited to come whenever they can for food, fun, and fellowship as we share our faith journey!

Thursdays Mornings: Bible study group!

The Thursday Morning Bible Study continues ours study of The Jesus I Never Knew by Philip Yancey. Everyone is welcome for study and conversation. Please note there is an adult education “field trip” on Thursday May 20. See below for more information.

New - Adult Education Library

The Adult Ed “Library” is now open for business. It’s low-tech, very simple. If you would like to borrow a resource, just fill out a blue slip of paper with basic info, and return the resource when you are finished. If you have any books/ DVD’s related to the Christian life, the Bible, the church (even Christian fiction) that you would like to donate, please leave it at the library in the basket for donations or outside Pastor Julie’s office. We reserve the right to include the resource or re-donate it. Thank you and enjoy! (P.S. The library is in the back hallway, outside the adult Sunday school classroom 9.

Midweek Learning Opportunities

Men’s Bible Study Group

Men’s Bible Study is ON!

Beginning Tuesday, August 3, from 7 to 8 p.m. in room 8 at Christ the Lord, men gather to read and discuss the Bible. This time we are studying the Gospel of Luke. The study is uplifting and relaxed. All men are welcome, and no Bible knowledge, skills or experience is necessary. Hope to see you there!

The Wednesday Women’s Bible Study Group

In John 10:10 Jesus said, 'I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.'

Our Wednesay morning Women's Bible Study group is currently on hiatus. Ideas for future studies are welcome. Please contact Robin Eggleston via wbs@christthelordlutheran.org if you are interested in signing up for this group and to indicate a need for childcare.

Women’s Retreat 2010

Mark your calendar for the fall Women's Retreat. This year's get-away is Friday, September 17 to Sunday, September 19 at Forrest Hill Retreat and Conference Center in Dahlonega. The program for Saturday and Sunday morning is "Discerning YOUR Spiritual Gifts." The retreat will be very laid-back, with lots of time for rest, relaxation and fellowship. Plan to join us. Registration will be open August 1. Cost is $130 for all meals and accommodations.

Men's Retreat - April 23-25, 2010.
I am announcing the Men’s Retreat (April 23 to 25) early this year to be sure you have it on your calendar and to begin registering people. We have a brand new location this year that I think you will love. The location is Tanglewood Cabins in Helen Georgia, which is just a short distance from our previous place. You can look it up on the internet. One of the places we will have to use is the lodge, a great place for our devotions and down time. Pricing will be available soon. I do not expect it go up much over last year, if any. If you are interested in the Men’s Retreat, please let me know early. If you would like to invite a friend, we welcome them. If you would like to know more about our retreat, please speak with me. Let’s get an early start on a new year.

A Marriage Enrichment Workshop was held November 3, 2006. Led by husband and wife psychologists Morgan and Sylvia Kyle, this provided an excellent time for couples to strengthen their marriage. It is a fun, interesting time together (lots of laughter and conversation). The focus this year is on communication. The cost is $25 per couple, which includes Friday evening snacks, Saturday continental breakfast and lunch.
