Our Staff and Leaders
We have an exciting team of professional staff and volunteer leaders working in all areas of the church.
Pastor Bob Mitchell began his service at Christ the Lord in 1984, immediately following his graduation from the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. Originally from East Tennessee, he is also a graduate of the University of Tennessee. He, his wife, and their three children live along the I85 corridor and enjoy sporting activities, the lake, and family time. Pastor Bob oversees all areas of ministry, with special emphasis on preaching, staff development, stewardship, and property. Pastor Julie Ehlers-King joined our congregation in August 2007 as our Associate Pastor for Adult Education and Senior High Youth Ministries. A 2003 graduate of the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, Pastor Julie and her husband Joshua live with their three children (the most recent born April 4, 2008) in Hoschton. . In her free time, Julie enjoys reading, gardening and crafting.
Pastor Julie has been teaching our Sunday morning "Pastor's Class" since the Spring; and this summer led a special Sunday School series for our high school youth. Pastor Julie is also leading our revitalized Care Team.

Laura Bryant is our Director of Music Ministry and has been with CTL for more than 10 years. She is pictured here with cast members from " The Wizard of Oz". She began playing the piano at age three and began formal, classical training at age four. She grew up in Nebraska, but moved to Georgia as a teenager. She graduated from South Gwinnett high School and studied music at Georgia State University. She and John have been married since 1981 and they have two daughters. Vickie Davis
has served as our Youth Director since 1996,
following two years of service as a volunteer. She and her husband have
seven
children and have been members of Christ the Lord since 1987. Vickie’s calm
nature and organizational abilities are true assets as she works with our
youth. She is also a gifted leader in synod and churchwide youth ministry. You

Julie Gulley
has served as our Parish Administrator for nearly
20 years now and what a blessing she is! She is a charter member of the
congregation and has been Lutheran all her life. She has one adult,
married son, and now enjoys a quiet home life with plenty of time to
read – Julie’s favorite past time! Julie is available in the church office

Jenny Lanning joined our staff in March of 2000 as our Director of New Member Ministries. Jenny has been in church work for many years, primarily in the area of Youth Ministry. A natural care giver, Jenny is that smiling face that welcomes you at the front door and sees you through the new member process. Jenny’s extension is #20' or email jl@christthelordlutheran.org
Jeannie Ostergaard
joined our staff as Julie's administrative assistant in
2005. She's been
married for 40 years to Dave and has been attending CTL since 1999. They are
Chicago natives and have 3 grown daughters and 4 grandchildren. Her
background includes being an EMT, some marketing and many years of customer
service. She has also volunteered a CPR instructor for the American Red
Cross and is part of the CTL Care Team. Jeannie will be the voice answering

Diane Thomas and her family have been members at Christ the Lord since 1992. She and her husband, Tim, have raised their three children in the welcoming environment of Christ the Lord. Diane became the Director of Children's Ministry in 2001. Her bachelor's degree in Child Development and volunteer experience with the children's programming make her well suited for the position. Diane has taught both Vacation Bible School and the Wednesday evening Friends of Faith program. She has also served on the church council. Congregation Council
A Council of the pastors, 4 officers and 9 members (who also coordinate an area
of ministry) governs our congregation. All the work of the congregation is
accomplished through these leaders, their volunteers and the church staff. Ministry areas
include
Adult Ministry, Children’s Ministry,
Fellowship, Long Range Planning, Outreach, Property, Stewardship, Welcome
Ministry, Worship and Music, and Youth Ministry. We are deeply grateful to God
for these talented and dedicated servants in this congregation.
